Madam Wokie interview with the U. S. Embassy, Sierra Leone
Hi everyone! I am currently in Hyderabad, India, for the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), which is hosted by the Governments of India and the United States of America.
GES is the preeminent annual entrepreneurship gathering that convenes emerging entrepreneurs, investors and supporters from around the world. GES 2017 creates an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level. Through two and a half days of networking, mentoring, and workshops, GES empowers entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, innovate, and find their target customers -- creating new goods and services that will transform societies.
This year’s Summit highlights the theme Women First, Prosperity for All, and focuses on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally. One of the headliners of this years event is Ivanka Trump who is leading the United States delegation to the Summit.
Prior to attending the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India I had an interview with the U.S. Embassy Freetown Public Affairs section on my hopes for the trip and what I am to achieve. The US Embassy has been a long term supporter of Madam Wokie, and I look forward to building on our partnership, and working together to increase female entrepreneurship among youths in Sierra Leone. 2018 is going to be all about giving back and empowering the next generation of change makers.
