Tie-Tie by Madam Wokie - the process

It is amazing what happens when you bring a group of young women together to share, learn and grow together.

In commemoration of International Women's Day 2017, Madam Wokie embarked on a tie-dye project aimed at teaching a small group of young women to learn the tie-dye skill, while encouraging others to share their knowledge and techniques with less experienced members of the group. The overall objective of the project was to empower young women to become more self-sufficient and pursue sustainable means of income. Overall it was a fulfilling day as the ladies joked, sang and shared their individual stories with each other. The finished products were used design pieces for the Madam Wokie International Women's Day photoshoot which can be seen in the most recent blog posts.
